So Far I have learned:

1 Especially in the summer San Francisco is blanketed in fog mornings & evenings. It's been in fog the whole time I've been here. (not so much over in Marin) It actually gives the air a clean fresh feel - especially coming off the redwoods up here.

2 The toll south over the Golden Gate bridge by car = $5 ! + you can unexpectedly come across other freeways which have a toll (mostly $3)

3 "Yield" means Give Way

4 Dr Pepper, is an awful, sweet, chemically-poisonous tasting fizzy drink that I could only stomach 2 mouthfuls of.

5 In and Out Burger - not a bad feed as far as fast food goes

6 Freeway 101 South is full of potholes

7 MASSIVE SUVs & pickups are commonplace

8 Sometimes, the driving here is crazy!

9 you don't have to wear a helmut here to ride a bike

Howdy Darryl - If you are reading Jack Kerouac and are into the beat writers you have to go to North Beach in San Fran - cool Italian area - take a cable to China Town and stroll up the hill from there, ignoring all the homeless folk - there are some cool micro brewery pubs and the VESUVIO - where Kerouac and his Dharma Bums used to hang out, get hammered on red wine and smoke some tea - is still a bar and a shrine to the beat writers - next door is the famed City Lights Book Store, opened in the 50’s by poet Lawrence Ferlinghetti and used to promo the beat writers, JK, Ginsberg (the bookstore published his famous poem Howl), the old pervert William S. Burroughs - also nearby is Larry Flynt’s Hustler Club…

And if you want a huge burger try Carl’s Junior - I think they dare you to try and eat all their One Pound Burger - its alos where you will no doubt see some massive yanks - laters - Glen
